Barack Obama embarrassed by Ludacris rap
The song, which proclaims that an Obama presidency is America's destiny, describes Senator Hilary Clinton as a b**** and President George W Bush as "mentally handicapped".
It also says Mr Obama's presidential rival Senator John McCain doesn't belong "in any chair unless he's paralysed".
Ludacris is one of a number of musicians who have endorsed Mr Obama's campaign to become the first Black president.
But Mr Obama has distanced himself from the song, Politics As Usual.
His campaign said Ludacris should be "ashamed" of the rap.
"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to," campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail statement.
"This song is not only outrageously offensive to Mrs Clinton, Rev. Jackson, Mr McCain and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."
The song also targets the Reverend Jesse Jackson, a civil rights activist who has apologized for making disparaging comments about Obama. "If you said it then you meant it," intones the rapper.
In the two-minute track, the song makes a pitch for Obama to pick Ludacris as his vice president, saying: "Hillary hated on you, so that (expletive) is irrelevant."
Ludacris also encourages black people to vote in the upcoming election.
"The world is ready for change 'cause Obama is here," he says repeatedly.
Mr Obama met Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, in 2006 to discuss empowering young Americans.
Ludacris has not commented.

Box office hit The Dark Knight has 16 bloopers
New York, Jul 30, 2008: Director Christopher Nolan’s movie The Dark Knight has become one of the most mistake-ridden films of the year after cinemagoers have spotted 16 bloopers in the movie.
The Batman Begins sequel has become a box office smash worldwide, raking in an astonishing $440 million at movie theatres in the film’s first 10 days of release, reports Contactmusic.com
Observant visitors to website moviemistakes.com have noted a variety of continuity errors and historical inaccuracies in the blockbuster - up from the 12 mistakes found in its prequel Batman Begins.
The errors include characters’ altering hair styles, mismatched audio and an additional police truck magically appearing in a car chase scene.
However, the top spot for the movie with the most errors this year goes to Harison Ford starrer Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that features a whopping 40 bloopers.

It was Katrina Kaif who has fallen victim of the ugly spat between beau Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan at her birthday party. Katrina who was an important member of the tour is no longer associated with it. Australian speedster Brett Lee is geared up to showcase his cricketing skills on the big screen with his Bollywood debut in Manmohan Shetty’s Victory.
Lee would be playing himself in the movie. "Working in the movie was fun because I just got to play myself. I enjoyed the whole experience," Lee said on the sidelines of an event. Sharing his on-shoot experiences, he added: "We used to play a lot of cricket on the sets and my co-stars got many cricketing tips from me."
Victory is the story of a small-town cricketer played by Harman Baweja who makes it big in the international cricket scene. He is helped by Lee in the movie to realise his dreams.
Other Australian players - Michael Hussey, Brad Hogg and Stuart Clark will also share screen space in the movie for the first time along with Lee.
Apart from claiming wickets, Lee shares a passion for music. He also did a song and music video for legendary singer Asha Bhosle’s album Asha and friends.
"I am a music lover and I can hear anything from ’Metallica’ to ’Backstreet Boys’," Lee added. Lee’s love for music is evident by his habit of playing either the guitar or the piano everyday. "Music is the real stress buster for me, so at the end of a busy day, I play some instrument or listen to good music to uplift my spirits," he said.
When asked about his take on the emerging tie-ups between the fashion and sports world, Lee said both were different fields that should not be mixed.
Queried about his fashion statement, he quipped: "Fashion is just like music to me. I like to carry myself well and my fashion statement is just to be oneself."
Lee, who is a busy person because of hectic cricket tours and other assignments, is a home person whenever he gets the time.
"The family always comes first, so I love to be with them whenever I get time. My home is the ultimate holiday destination for me," he concluded.

Chiru: I’ll win 225 seats
Hyderabad, July 29: The suspense over actor Chiranjeevi’s political entry seems to have come to an end. The actor announced on Tuesday at an informal gathering of a few select reporters that he will launch a political party soon.
"After August 15, the announcement will be made," the star said. Talking to a few mediapersons at his film production office in Jubilee Hills, Chiranjeevi was confident that his party will win 225 seats on its own in the General elections. He said that the media speculations about his political career since 1999 made him consider entering politics. He evaded questions on his party’s name, flag and agenda and said that he would meet the media very soon to reveal all that. He disclosed that there were around 20 names under consideration for his party.
Chiranjeevi indicated that he would announce the party through a media conference and there would a public meeting in Hyderabad and Tirupati after that. Though mediapersons questioned him about a separate Telangana, categorisation of SCs and Kapu reservations, the film star evaded a direct reply and said that he would go to people to know their thoughts. Responding to a question, the filmstar said he had not yet finalised from which constituency he would contest and added that he was ready to contest from any of the 294 segments in Andhra Pradesh.

'Marmayogi' one more ambitious dream of Kamal Haasan is said to be launched with a classic and high-profile opening in Mumbai in August.
With an estimated budget of over INR one billion, this celluloid dream is based on evidences from history with a story framed in the setting of 7th Century AD. AR Rehman started to work on the tunes to match the contemporary ambience and theme.
According to the sources Kamal is hopeful that this new venture will be a mile mark in his career. He adds that Dasavataram though had little mishaps in accuracy; the experience will help him to eliminate such chances in this new project. He thanked every one for their fair critics.

Bangalore: At least one woman was reportedly killed and several others were injured when serial blasts rocked different parts of the IT city today.
The blasts rocked Nayandahalli, Madivala, Adugodi areas on the outskirts of Bangalore.
According to media reports, timer and gelatin sticks appear to have been used in the blasts.
Meanwhile, high alert was sounded in Delhi.

Jackie Chan with Mohanlal
The buzz is that Mohanlal will star in a film, titled Nayarsen, with martial arts hero Jackie Chan. Mohanlal has prepared a script based on the life of freedom fighter Ayyar Pillai Madhavan. A newbie, Albert will direct the film. While Mohanlal plays the title role, Jackie Chan is set to play an equally significant role. Mohanlal said that the film, to be shot extensively in Mongolia and China, will be made simultaneously in Malayalam, Chinese, Japanese and English. The film is sure to be dubbed in Telugu as well as large number of Jackie’s fans hail from Andhra.

Chennai, July 24 (IANS) South India’s highest paid actress Nayanthara Thursday filed a police complaint alleging that her rivals are circulating a fake MMS clip reportedly showing her in a compromising pose with Tamil actor Simbu, sources said. “This is the work of rivals jealous of my fame and bankability on the eve of the August release of ‘Kuselan’ and ‘Sathyam,’ both big budget ventures,” the actress was quoted as saying. Nayanthara was rumoured to be romantically linked Shimbu but now maintains that she has a “friendly relationship” with him, sources close to the actress said. According to sources, the allegedly morphed clip originated in Tiruchirappalli Sunday and has been widely circulated since then. Earlier, actresses Trisha, Jyothika and Namitha have been victims of such fake MMS clips, according to industry sources.

This number seemed to be the theme song / title song and it could be the introduction song of Rajanikanth, who plays really a film hero (real life role) in the film. The song was penned in such a way to explain about film and film making and the merits and demerits in the film industry. The lyricist being attached to the film industry for several years was able to explain about the film industry. As the song had lyrical value, the music director might have chosen to give scope to the lyric than filling it with music. However, he utlised the interlude time very well. The music lovers could easily identify the impact of AR Rahman to certain extent and at the same time, he maintained his own style by mixing Illayaraja kind of melody in the song.

This song appears to be a situational song. The number begins with music of rain and frog noise etc. Soon it turns a little fast number and very youthful. Shreya Ghoshal's voice filled the needed melody in the song. Music Director Prakash needed compliments for honoring the singers' talent without filling in unnecessary music to snub the voice. This made the lyricist to use his literary talents in scripting fantastic lyrics to all the songs. Especially use of very common words in a song lifted the tempo in the song. No doubt, it would remain yet another good song on 'Rain' theme. Traditional instruments like guitar, violin, drums, flute, electric guitar and bass guitar and were aptly used by the music director.

This number was tuned in complete melody. The song begins with guitar and ghatam sounds. It appears a duet between the hero and heroine. The tune is in folk song manner as the background songs is the chirping of birds, with light drumbeat coupled with flute bits. Guitar interludes along with bits from key board enhanced the theme of the song. However, the ghatam sound continued to remain in the background. The use of guitar bit before the second stanza is worth listening. The second stanza talks about share market and the sweet and diabetes, which means the couple returned from the city to village. The use of flute in the interludes between the second stanza are also worth listening.

Artists: Kailash Kher, Prasanna
This number was tuned in a mass beat. Especially the initial music indicates that style of a Sikh's folklore kind of music, followed by traditional drum (dappu) music indicates some other. The humming indicates another kind of folklore beat. The song also penned in praise of a hero and his heroic deeds. The wavelength of music director, the director and the lyricist appear to be in right sync and all the songs had good lyrical values. However, the music director also made use of traditional instruments instead of going for extravagant instruments.

This number filled the void that the music director ignored the western instruments in his album. He used several western musical instruments and different humming in the backdrop. Some how, he could not ignore use of traditional instruments and took their help in the last stanza. He chose to use one of the Tamil musical instrumentsm which sounds like a mridangam of Carnatic music, with a different sound.

'Baladoor' to hit screen in August
Final touches are being given for 'Baladoor' (Veediki Badhyatalekkuva) directed by Udayshankar, presented by Dr D Ramanaidu and produced by D Suresh Babu on the banner of Suresh Productions with Raviteja and Anushka in the lead, with Krishna playing an important role.
Producer says, 'Presently post-production works are in progress. We gave the distribution rights of our film to Sri Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Films.'
A representative of the distribution unit says, 'We are sure that Baladoor would remain attractive to both family audiences and mass audiences. We bagged the rights to release the film across the world. We are planning to release the film in the second week of August.'
KM Radhakrishnan scored music.
Chandramohan, Sunil, LB Sriram, Pradeep Rawat, Ahuti Prasad, Sivaprasad, Sameer, Raja Ravindra, Suman Shetty, Mallikarjuna Rao, Raviprakash, Sumitra, Bhargavi, Gundu Hanumanta Rao, Kadambari Kiran, Tirupati Prakash and others are in the cast.

Ileana in Rajini’s Sultan
Tollywood glam doll iIleana has been roped in to act with ’Superstar’ Rajinikanth in ‘Sultan The Warrior’, an animated film being directed by the top actor’s daughter Soundarya. Ileana, who entered Kollywood with ‘Kedi’ opposite Ravi Krishna, would begin her second innings in Tamil filmdom with Sultan. Besides, she has also been asked to share the screen with Vikram in a movie to be directed by K S Ravikumar. Vikram would act in two different roles in this project. The movie is produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios. A R Rahman is scoring the music. “It is privilege to do a movie on my father, who is a mass hero and man admired by the masses”, says Soundarya. ‘Sultan The Warrior’ would hit the screens in April 2008.

Rajini warns P Vasu finally
Rajinikanth’s dual language film, titled as “Kuselan” in Tamil and “Kathanayakudu” in Telugu is almost ready. But the films release date will be definitely postponed to august second week as Visual effects in the film has to be induced and will take at least 10 days time. Reports were confirmed that this film may get postponed to august 15th, but latter on Vasu diverted the release date to 8th August. But all arrangements are being made to release the Tamil version of this film on July 30th. But still the date is in a dilemma. Meanwhile, Rajnikanth has warned P. Vasu not to release the film with 1200 prints and instead advised him to do it with 500-600 prints. The reason is said that if the film gets released with 1200 prints then all then fans will view the film on the first day and so the interest and the value of the film will come down. P. Vasu has taken the advice and is planning to release the film in 540 prints.

Mamta Mohan Das, who hit the news headlines in the end of December last year for alleging that Actor -turned Director Chakravarthi was sexually harassing her came up with some facts yesterday. During one of her shooting schedules, she gave a brief interview to the media. In that she said that she was happy with her career shaping well presently and wished to get nominated for a film fare award as a best actress. A day after the release of the film Aamir got lead stars Imran Khan and Genelia to write on his blog, to connect with the film’s young audience and generate more hype. After an excellent initial box-office run, collections for the film are rapidly dropping off because very few above the age of 25 are interested in the film. Aamir, however, has a game plan to counter the drop: not to convince grown ups to trek to the multiplexes but to encourage youngsters to see the film again! So how does he do it? By adding a song to the film and creating hype about it! He made a post on his blog on July 13 saying that he had edited out the male version of the song Jaane Tu Mera Kya Hai, Jaane Tu Mera Kya Tha… before releasing the film but was now wondering whether his decision was right. "Am always curious about such decisions. The movie has been loved so I am assuming we took the right decision. But a number of people have also come up to me and said that they had liked the song in the audio and missed it in the film," he wrote. "Want your opinion. "Should it have been in the film? Do you think we should add the song into the film now? The song is ready and its easy enough for me to do…" Not surprisingly in his post today Aamir wrote: "…those in favor of adding the song seem to be in the majority. So, for those of you who want it in, the song is in but for just ONE WEEK. You see all of us feel that what we released is what we see the film as. And that we don’t want to change. This is more like an experiment. A one week experiment. So the film will play with the song from tomorrow, i.e. Friday 18th July, for just one week." He ends the post saying: "I hope you enjoy the song, and I really wonder whether after seeing the song you will agree with us about deleting it in the first place. Am super curious." Go on folks! Go see the movie again and tell Aamir how the song looks in it!! Why does Mr Bachchan keep bitching about the press on his blog, is probably a thought that keeps Aamir amused these days!

Whether it will be all alone or tie-up with the Left is not clear. Anyway, he is making no bones about his potential even if it has set tongues wagging among some learned men. While candidates’ selection is going on with the amount fixed for par ty fund, the actor is said to be planning to undertake a train ‘yatra’ from Srikakulam to the capital touching Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
How he plans to cover other regions of the State has not yet been established.

Indian Test captain Anil Kumble is in no mood to lament cricket-weary Mahendra Singh Dhoni's absence from the squad and believes it is a gilt-edged opportunity for stumpers Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel to prove their mettle.
Kumble conceded that winning the Test series would require 'a lot of hard work'Addressing a press conference soon after the team landed here for the three-match Test series, Kumble sounded upbeat about the team's prospect and was not unduly worried about Dhoni's absence.
"This would give an opportunity to both Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel to prove themselves after their good showing in the domestic cricket," Kumble said.
Dhoni had earlier cited fatigue and opted out of the Test squad. Kumble refused to delve into the pros and cons of Dhoni's decision and said the ODI captain had already explained reasons behind his decision.
Though Kumble oozed confidence that his side would live up to the expectation in the series, the seasoned campaigner admitted it would not be a cakewalk for the visitors.
"It will be a tough series and will require a lot of hard work," Kumble said.
Sri Lanka has an impressive record at home and they have found a new match-winner in spin sensation Ajantha Mendis, even though Kumble insisted the Indian batsmen were not losing sleep over him.
"We will be on the lookout," Kumble said, when his opinion was sought on the mystery spinner who ran through the Indian batting order in the Asia Cup final.
Kumble felt with pace spearhead Zaheer Khan returning to the side, the Indian attack would have a formidable look.Kumble's opposite number Mahela Jayawardene too felt the series would be hard-fought. According to him, Sachin Tendulkar's return to the Indian side would lend much depth to the visiting batting line-up. On the introduction of the referral system, which would allow the sides challenge umpire's decision, Jayawardene said it would be an advantage for the players.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Chairman Arjuna Ranatunga, who was present on the occasion, said he was looking forward to the series.
Ranatunga said he would remain a Test cricket fan even though he would not mind funds generated from the Twenty20 matches to be utilised for the longer version of the game.

Shooting of Ram Charan Teja’s second film, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and produced by Allu Aravind in association with B.V.S.N. Prasad under Gita Arts banner is progressing well in and around Hyderabad. It is learnt that some action and chase scenes are being shot now.
The director has decided to choreograph a remix song, 'Bangaru Kodipetta…' of Chiranjeevi's blockbuster Gharana Mogudu in this movie. The original song was choreographed at Visakhapatnam Port; the same is going to be the venue for the latest song as well, involving Ram Charan and Mumaith Khan. The film unit would leave for Visakhapatnam very soon.

YSR makes film debut
HYDERABAD, July 13 (TNN): Andhra’s politicians seem to have been bitten by the acting bug. And leading the pack is none other than the chief minister himself. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who till now has been loathe to be associated with anything filmy, on Saturday put on the greasepaint for comedian Brahmanandam’s upcoming film. YSR faced the camera for the film, inspired by Frank Capra’s 1939 Oscar winner ’Mr Smith Goes to Washington’. In the film, YSR plays his real life role of CM and Brahmanandam acts as a Sugali tribal from north Andhra. The scene was shot at the chief minister’s camp office in Begumpet for the film that is being produced by C C Reddy of Visu films, YSR’s relative and advisor. What’s interesting is that YSR has chosen to act in a film at a time when several frontline Telugu cinema actors and personalities, including Chiranjeevi, hope to play a larger role in state politics. With election fever catching on and polls slated for next year, YSR’s move also indicates a decision to tap the pull of movies amidst the public to further his cause. AP ministers find silver screen irresistible. Other ministers too have taken to acting, with some playing the role of CM. Former minister and APSRTC chairman M Satyanarayana Rao will act as CM in a movie titled ’Sathyameva Jayathe’. "For 40 years I have been acting in politics. I have now got an opportunity to act in films and that too as chief minister about which I am happy," he said. Actor Rajasekhar plays a key role in the film, which is being directed by his wife Jeevitha. The couple intends to align with the Congress. Transport minister Kanna Laxminarayana is one of them who has found the big screen irresistible. He will be seen playing the role of Union defence minister in the movie ’Soldier’, starring Krishna and being directed by his wife Vijayanirmala. A few months ago, a prominent TDP leader from Nalgonda, Mothkuri Narasimlu, was seen in the role of a politician in ’Operation Duryodhana’ directed by Posani Krishnamurali. Another politician from Telangana V Prakash was seen in a role in ’Apadhamokkulavadu’ also directed by Posani. In the past, BJP leader and former Union minister K Vidyasagar Rao starred in the film ’Collectorgaru’.

HYDERABAD, JULY 15 (TNN) HansSika, the latest teen actress in Tollywood, was recently approached by director SJ Surya to act in the Pawan Kalyan starrer Puli. However, the actress refused the offer as she couldn’t give bulk dates. So now the filmmakers have decided on a debutant Nakasha. Well, Hansika’s loss is Nakasha gain! The film’s shooting has already begun and the filmmakers are planning to release it by the end of this year. Jyothi Krishna has been roped in to play the second lead.

After a whole gap of seven years Pavan Kalyan has given a hit and Jalsa has eventually completed 100 days. The film opened to a divided talk but collected quite an amount in the initial few weeks as the prints released in the theatres were maximum. Looks like his good days are back, and now the actor is busy working in Puli produced by S. Ramesh. After this he will get busy with Satyagrahi that will be directed by the actor himself.
